We’ve changed names! GANS Studio is now Gans & Company. Inheriting the name from Deborah’s grandfather’s hardware store, we changed our name to reflect the role collaboration plays in our design process. Throughout the years our design process has been informed by the different perspectives and expertise our collaborators have imparted onto our projects. Community groups, civil engineers, landscape architects, individual homeowners, local government offices have all contributed to our work and expanded the scope of what design can achieve.  Collaboration has allowed us to work on larger scales engaging with questions of community planning and environmental resiliency. It has also allowed us to partner with underserved communities to provide a medium for advocating for their rights and desires. As Gans & Company, we reaffirm our desire to look at architecture (and industrial design) as a collaborative process; one that benefits from different disciplines and provides a voice for those who are underserved.
